What led you to counselling?
My journey into counseling was influenced by personal and professional experiences that showed me the importance of being heard and supported. I realized how vital it is to have someone by your side during tough times, and I wanted to provide that support for others.
Favorite book and why?
One of my favorite books is The Secret because it encourages positivity and gratitude in everyday life. I enjoy reading books that inspire personal growth and a hopeful mindset. The message about focusing on possibilities rather than limitations really resonates with me. It reminds me to stay intentional, optimistic, and open to new opportunities. I appreciate anything that encourages people to believe in themselves and create a meaningful life.
What/who inspires you?
My family, meaningful life experiences, and the people I meet along the way continue to shape and inspire me. I am also my own inspiration. I have learned to value my growth, resilience, and the progress I continue to make over time. My experiences have taught me to reflect, adapt, and keep moving forward even during challenges. I take pride in the effort I put into becoming better each day.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I initially wanted to be an accountant because I liked numbers, structure and clarity. But as I grew older, I found myself more drawn to connecting with people and supporting them through challenges, which ultimately led me to counselling.
What is your process for turning a bad day into a good one?
When I am having a bad day, I take a moment to pause and reflect on my feelings. Instead of judging myself, I respond with self-compassion. I then take small steps—be it through movement, connecting with others, or changing my thought patterns—to gradually shift my mindset.
What do people say your biggest strength is?
Many people consider my greatest strength to be my ability to remain calm and positive, even in stressful situations. They say I help them feel grounded and encourage a more positive and accepting perspective during challenging times. I strive to bring understanding, patience, and support to my interactions with others. I value genuine connections and enjoy helping people navigate their challenges in a practical and compassionate manner. I believe that a positive mindset, coupled with acceptance and resilience, empowers individuals to face life's difficulties with greater strength and clarity.
Something you’re proud of (challenge you’ve overcome, etc.)?
I am proud of my accomplishment in rebuilding and balancing my life in a new country while pursuing my education, raising children, and working full-time. It wasn’t easy, but this experience taught me resilience, adaptability, and the importance of staying committed to long-term goals, despite the challenges I faced. One thing you’ve learned from working with people?
One important lesson I've learned from working with people is that everyone wants to feel heard, understood, and accepted without judgment. I've also discovered that individuals are often much stronger and more resilient than they realize. Even small gestures of support, kindness, and encouragement can make a meaningful difference in someone's life. Each person carries a unique story and perspective, which has highlighted the importance of patience, empathy, and openness for me. Working with people continues to inspire my personal and professional growth.
Favorite things to do?
Some of my favorite activities include traveling, exploring new places, and experiencing different cultures. I lived in England during my early years, and that experience instilled in me an appreciation for diversity and the importance of connecting with people from various backgrounds. One comfort food I still miss is the classic baked potato from takeaway shops in England; they were simple, filling, and always seemed to taste the best. I truly value the little things in life that bring comfort, joy, and a sense of nostalgia.
What would you tell a client who is meeting you for the first time?
I want clients meeting me for the first time to know that they don’t have to have everything figured out. I value genuine connections and open conversations, creating a space where people can be themselves. Everyone has strengths, even in difficult times, and sometimes they just need support to recognize them. I aim to bring warmth, patience, and authenticity to our interactions, ensuring that clients feel respected and heard as individuals.
Do you have any pets?
Yes, I have a 4-year-old male Golden Retriever who believes attention and petting should never end. He takes his role in the household very seriously, especially when it comes to making sure everyone has finished their meals. He’s also the first one at the door when someone comes home, acting like a very enthusiastic security checkpoint. He’s friendly, loyal, and always ready to greet people like they’re the most important part of his day.

I provide counselling services in English, Punjabi, Hindi, and Urdu. I am able to connect with clients in the language they feel most comfortable expressing themselves in. This helps create a more natural and supportive space for communication. Being multilingual also allows me to better understand cultural context and lived experiences. My goal is to make clients feel heard, respected, and understood regardless of the language they choose.
